ExperienceDr. Joseph Iuorno is fellowship trained in Corneal/external disease and refractive surgery. Dr. Iuorno participates as a professor in the Osler Institute Ophthalmology Review course. The Osler Course is a national ophthalmic review course for all ophthalmologists preparing for written and oral board certification examinations. These courses are held in San Francisco, Chicago and Philadelphia several times throughout the year. Dr. Iuorno has participated in Academic medicine as the Director for the VCU Department of Ophthalmology Residency Training Program from 2005-2011. Dr. Iuorno is currently on staff at VCU as Assistant Clinical Professor.
PracticeIn 2013, Dr. Joseph D. Iuorno, founder of West End Ophthalmology, joined Drs. Andrew J. Michael and Shawn H. Hobbs at the helm of the unified Commonwealth Eye Care Associates. EducationDr. Iuorno received his medical degree from St. George's University School of Medicine. After completing an internship at St. Jose's University Health Center, he completed his residency in ophthalmology at Upstate Medical Center. He completed his cornea/ external disease/ refractive surgery fellowship training at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Iuorno is an American Academy of Ophthalmology board-certified ophthalmologist.
