PracticeDr. Shaia’s practice, The Balance and Ear Center, is located in the west end of Richmond. The Balance and Ear Center is a full-service ear, nose and throat (ENT) practice with specific subspecialty in disorders of the ear and balance systems. They have been successfully serving Central Virginia for over 35 years. Dr. Shaia works passionately within the specialty of otology and neurotology. He focuses on treating people for any disorder that causes vertigo, imbalance, or dizziness. He treats Ménière’s disease, labyrinthitis, acoustic neuromas, inner ear fistulas, tinnitus, and hearing loss. He concentrates efforts in finding solutions to all of your ear nose and throat concerns. The physicians at Balance and Ear Center enjoy working closely with their staffed audiologist to ensure the best possible solution for their patients. The practice is Virginia's only free-standing facility completely dedicated to diseases of ear and balance systems for both adults and children.
EducationDr. Shaia received his M.D. from the Medical College of Virginia, followed by his completion of residency in otolaryngology. He then completed a two-year accredited otology and skull base surgery fellowship at the Michigan Ear Institute. Dr. Shaia is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology.
ProfileDr. Shaia was born in Cleveland, OH but has lived in Richmond for the past forty years. Dr. Shaia's hobbies include spending time with his wife and three kids, playing tennis, and playing guitar.
